“Conscious quitting” refers to the trend of resigning from one’s job for ethical reasons.

 

WHERE DID IT COME FROM ?

The term was first popularised by a Net Positive Employee survey published in February 2023, titled “From quiet quitting to conscious quitting.” According to the survey, 35% of British and American workers said they had already left a position because their values conflicted with those of the company. It’s hard to work for a business that exploits carbon-based materials when you’re an environmental activist!
